Richard Gutjahr - The Israeli Link to the Terrorism in Nice and Munich
July 25, 2016
COINCIDENCE OR PRIOR KNOWLEDGE? Richard Gutjahr, a German journalist married to a high-ranking Israeli intelligence officer, was present at both Nice and Munich terror attacks, which he posted reports and photos of online.
Richard Gutjahr, the German journalist who is described by some as a propagandist.
Einat Wilf, Gutjahr's Israeli wife, has served in Israel's government with Ehud Barak's political party, as an advisor to Shimon Peres, and as a high-level officer in Israel's signal intelligence agency, Unit 8200.
In
what must be one of the most uncanny coincidences in the history of
terrorism, a German journalist named Richard Gutjahr was present at two
recent terror attacks in Europe, and posted photos of both attacks
on-line. What is even more unsettling is the fact that Gutjahr is
married to a high-level Israeli intelligence officer, Einat Wilf, a lieutenant in Israeli military intelligence Unit 8200.
Unit
8200 is Israel's equivalent of the NSA, an agency that specializes in
signal intelligence. The question about Gutjahr's presence at both
recent terror events in Europe being a coincidence or something else has
been raised in the German media in articles such as "Nizza, München & Gutjahr – Zufall oder nicht?"
I have written about Israel's intelligence Unit 8200 and possible connections to acts of terrorism in my article "Suspicions about the Russian Plane Crash".
The
Israeli media is working to downplay the significance of Gutjahr's
presence at both terror events, even suggesting that he was not at the
scene in Munich because his photos have been deleted from his Twitter
account. This is how the Times of Israel tried to mislead its
readers, writing below the headline that Gutjahr was "supposedly"
present at both events: "Gutjahr’s Twitter profile shows he posted
pictures from Nice but not from Munich."
The Jewish Press website provides the details about the reason why Gutjahr's photos are no longer available on Twitter:
Now
it gets complicated: after shooting the truck massacre in Nice more
than two weeks ago, journalist Richard Gutjahr was also present during
the police operation at the Olympia shopping center in Munich and
tweeted pictures from the incident. Gutjahr shared one picture of a
group of armed police at the mall entrance, and another of armed
officers crouching behind a wall.
Then
he tweeted: “I made mistakes today. Could not believe that I once again
ended up in such a situation. The images are now gone. #OEZ” The
hashtag stands for Olympia-Einkaufszentrum, the mall where the attack
took place.

What
are the chances that the same journalist, who lives and works in
Europe, would be present during two separate terrorist attacks within
two weeks? Gutjahr himself appears stunned by this coincidence, as his
tweet attests. He lost the images he had shot, admittedly that’s
suspicious, but could also be explained so many reasonable different
ways.
As the event
unfolded in Munich on July 22, Mother Jones posted Gutjahr's photograph
(no longer online) from the scene, with the text:
Local
reporter Richard Gutjahr described the scene at the shopping center as
something "out of a bad movie," with the shopping center completely
surrounded by police, a helicopter overhead, and police carrying
semi-automatic rifles. Gutjahr was not able to confirm reports of deaths
or injuries.

Gutjahr's
wife, Lt. Einat Wilf, is also an Israeli politician and served as a
Foreign Policy Advisor to Vice Prime Minister Shimon Peres. She was also
a General Partner with Koor Corporate Venture Capital in Israel.
In
2007, she ran for the presidency of the World Jewish Congress, but
withdrew before the vote in which Ronald Lauder was elected president.
Wilf
entered the Knesset in January 2010 as a Labor party replacement for
Ophir Pines-Paz, who had retired from politics. However, in January 2011
she was one of five MKs to leave the party to establish the new
Independence party under the leadership of Ehud Barak. Ehud Barak is a
former Israeli chief-of-staff and head of military intelligence.
