But while Clinton was First Lady of the United States, Abedin was an editor at an Islamic magazine ran by her mother, and it had some fiery takes on contemporary politics.

According to the New York Post, Abedin’s name was on the masthead of the Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs from 1996 to 2008.

Selected highlights of the magazine include, as detailed by the New York Post:

Saying the only Muslim definition of a family is a man and a woman who have children
Suggesting that having women in the workplace is a “clear demonstration of a lack of respect of womanhood and motherhood”
Criticizing Hillary Clinton for having a “very aggressive and radically feminist” agenda
Describing the “empowerment” of women as a bad thing
Claiming that more “men are victims of domestic violence than women”
Assigning the United States a significant share of the blame for the 9/11 terrorist attacks

Abedin is already denying playing a major role at the magazine, and the Clinton campaign has put out a statement, telling the New York Post:

“My understanding is that her name was simply listed on the masthead in that period,” Clinton spokesman Nick Merrill said hours after The Post broke the bombshell story. “She did not play a role in editing at the publication.”

But even a casual read of these topics, compared to the political agenda of Hillary Clinton in 2016, shows that Abedin will be facing plenty of questions of her own.
