Burgas Airport - another ICTS security operation?
After hearing the news of the bombing of an Israeli tourist bus at Burgas Airport and later news that a passport and driving license had apparently survived the blast intact, my curiousity was piqued and one question in particular came to mind. Who was responsible for security at the airport and was it the same company who managed the security at airports involved in 9/11 and the London Underground where many people lost their lives on 7/7?
I set about trawling the internet for information on the parties involved in the provision of security at Burgas Airport. First to come up was an entry on Burgas Airport's own site suggesting a connection with Fraport AG. Then I came across a page on Fraport AG's website suggesting that Burgas is one of the airports in their control.
Further digging around resulted in my finding this little gem from Plunkett's Transportation that confirms that Burgas is one of Fraport's Brands, Divisions or Affiliates. The same page in this book also lists ICTS Europe Holdings B.V. in the Brands/Divisions/Affiliates section for Fraport AG.
I'm not saying that ICTS were involved in Burgas, either directly or indirectly. But their connection with the company that manages Burgas Airport and their curious involvement at the site of every single major "terrorist attack" in the West over the last decade is enough to raise significant questions about recent events there.

Most recently, ICTS helped Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab get on board Northwest Airlines Flight 253 at Amsterdam's Schipol airport (25 Dec 2009). ICTS handles security for the Schipol airport, and for Northwest Airlines worldwide.
Does ICTS handle security at Bulgaria’s Burgas and Varnas airports? This is not clear, but Fraport AG Frankfurt manages the Burgas airport facilities, and lists ICTS Europe Holdings BV as an affiliate. The Haaretz newspaper says ICTS Europe is not the same company as ICTS International. However, both outfits provide airport security, and both are headquartered in Amsterdam. I conclude that they are indeed the same company.
It’s all murky, and we don’t know the motive for the bombing.
All we know for sure is that Iran and Hezbollah had nothing to do with it.
