BUT this thing has the evilest vibe i've seen/felt in a while... i dont like it... its creepy as the whores of hell riding satans black horse of despair and terror... and im not even trying to be funny... wow I like it...free association beat apocalypse poetry and agree... but this truly surreal for me, as I know Newtown and that entire region so well, it is about the last thing you'd expect there. The Newtown Bee is a quaint small town paper, the area itself is a bit of a trip to the past - maybe the 60s or 70s. We used to call Bethel, the next town over, Brigadoon However, there is that despair below the surface in many upscale places in CT, the kind that fills John Cheever novels and leads to alcoholism there is also pollution by mercury in many wells of the region. Danbury and Newtown were the hat making capitols of the 19th century, as well as battery factories (I believe Energizer is still there) and some of that poison is in water supplies mad as a hatter... fwiw, the same thing was true in many parts of Nova Scotia, discovered, as the mercury and other chemicals used in gold and mineral mining had leached into local wells Another possible cause? |
