New Iberia's bleedin oil from the Earth,
Some call it a shame, some call it a curse,
I just call it a miracle in reverse,
Send over some priests - it's a Catholic parish,
Send some professors - they can publish or perish,
Send some politicians - they can debate it for a while,
It's a perfect photo-op-they can all smile,
Send the geologists who study the earth,
It can sit there like nuclear waste for thousands of years - for what their words worth
