Mary had

Mary had ...

by Tony Ryals
Mary had a little pope
His robe was white as snow,
And everywhere that Mary went the pope was sure to go,
He followed her to church one day
It was against a rule,
He made the local parish priest feel just like a fool,
To the pope he said,
The truth I dread,
You're playing a little fast and loose,
You see Mary dear,
She's a little queer,
She's in love with Mother Goose,
Oh the pope he said,
The truth I dread,
I thought she was little Bo-peep,
I followed her around,
Nose to the ground,
'Cause I just love her sheep.
